INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE DETAILS AND PRICING
EARN AS YOU LEARN
The following is a brief summary of what procedures are required in order to enrol on the above training course to become an Approved Driving Instructor. (ADI)
- You must be over 21 years old and held a full UK licence for at least 3 ½ years.
- Your licence preferably will have no endorsements (3 points will be considered)
- You must have good eyesight (even with glasses) to read a plate at 90 feet.
- You must be able to provide two character references – that will be checked
- IDC will only accept onto the course those candidates that we feel will have a good chance of completing all three examinations.
- You are required to pass three examinations in order to become an ADI, however you may apply for a Provisional Driving Instructor (PDI) licence after passing Part 2 and undergoing the mandatory 40 hours (Part 3a) training.
- ERB is carried out before eligible to enlist as a Driving Instructor.
Training Schedule to become and Approved Driving Instructor
Part 1
Theory (minimum 85 from 100 multi choice questions) Hazard Perception (minimum 57 from a possible 75 points) You may access our facilities for tuition and guidance without limit , and there is no limit to the amount of attempts of Part 1.
Part 2
The Practical test, which is all about your driving ability. You will be trained by our senior instructors back to basics, getting out of bad habits and back to a higher standard of driving that is required in order to become an instructor.
Earn As You Learn
You are now eligible to start earning money as an Instructor if you have fulfilled all 40 hours of mandatory training.
Part 3a
This is the mandatory 40 hours required in order to obtain your Provisional Driving Instructor (PDI) licence.
Part 3b
This training is given whilst employed as an instructor, and is the teaching qualification. Your PDI licence is valid for six months in order for you to obtain hands on experience as an instructor and earn at the same time.
