Advanced Driving Lessons
IT MAY ONE DAY SAVE YOUR LIFE
Most people think of advanced driving as a tool for reducing insurance premiums, and although this is a great benefit of taking an advanced driver course, Independence Driving Centre believe that it is more important if it may one day save your life.
There are a variety of advanced driver training courses and below I will introduce some of them to you. Of course we are also able to create a course just for you and dependent on the reasons for advanced tuition.
The PASS PLUS course is a six hour module that will include motorway, bad weather, city and rural driving, and after completion you will be able to obtain discount from many insurance companies. This course is popular with young drivers that have just passed their full driving test as the saving on insurance is far greater than the cost of the course. For drivers that have trained with Independence Driving Centre there is a discount on the price of the course.
- ADVANCED + is for drivers that do not fall into the PASS PLUS scheme, possibly because you took your test over twelve months ago. It has the same elements, six one hour modules; however you will also be required to practice on the theory/hazard perception element and reach a higher level of knowledge.
This training is conducted by one of Independence Driving Centre senior ADI instructors unlike other organisations that use volunteers.
You may be entitled to an insurance discount on your premiums by taking this course; however you should ask this question of your insurers before you take the course.
- UK FAMILIRISATION is a course designed to give overseas drivers experience on the UK roads. Independence Driving Centre also employ multi-lingual instructors, where requested, and can give tuition up to the standard required to obtain a full UK licence.
- FEMALE DEFENSIVE DRIVING is designed for both confidence and safety of women. The amount of hours required can vary and this course is delivered by one of the countries leading female instructors. It includes an intensive personal security element as well as increased driver skills.

Independence Driving Centre advise that you speak to your insurance company or broker regarding premium discounts before you take these courses. It is the insurers who decide if you are eligible for any discounts and not Independence Driving Centre.
